ANEMIA
DEFINITION
Anemia is a
condition where
the sum
of red blood cells or hemoglobin in
red blood cells is below normal.
ETIOLOGY
The most important cause of anemia:
- Increased
loss of red
blood cell
- Decrease
in or abnormal cell formation
Clinical
Manifestation
- Weakness
- Lethargy
- tired
- dizzy
eyes.
Patofisiology
Anemia
reflects the marrow failure or loss of red blood cells or both. Kegagalan
marrow (such as reduced erythropoiesis) can occur as a result of nutritional
deficiencies, toxic exposure, tumor invasion due
to causes that are not knowed.Sel
red blood can be lost through bleeding or hemolysis (destruction).
Complications
Common
complications include heart failure anemia, paresthesia and seizure at any
level of anemia, patients with heart desease
tend to be more likely to have angina or symptoms of congestive heart failure
than someone who does not have the
heart
desease.

Management
1. Transplantation of red blood cells
2. Antibiotics are given to prevent infection
3. Folic acid supplements can stimulate the
formation of red blood cells
4. Avoiding shortage oxygen situation or activities that
require oxygen.
